A Universally Unique IDentifier (UUID) is a 64-bit random number that I create, and assign, to each individual piece of art I create. Like serial numbers they serve to make multiple physical instances of an art work unique; unlike serial numbers their random nature does not inherently priviledge one instance of a work over another.
All works are recorded and tracked in a master database. Information on the whereabouts of the work, it's creation date, photo/video documentation etc. are all kept indefinetely. This information is publicly available.
